2016 Law Enforcement Management and Administrative Statistics (LEMAS) Survey
The Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) is working with RTI International and the Police Executive Research Forum (PERF) to administer the 2016 LEMAS to law enforcement agencies across the country.
If your sheriff’s office has been selected to participate in the 2016 LEMAS and has not yet completed the survey, we ask that you do so ASAP. Data from the LEMAS allow sheriffs’ offices to benchmark with similar jurisdictions and establish a baseline for best practices in law enforcement administration.
Your participation helps ensure the accuracy and reliability of the results, which better serve anyone looking at the findings. We need all sheriffs’ offices with 100 or more full-time sworn to participate to ensure the results are nationally representative. Additionally, sheriffs’ offices with fewer than 100 full-time sworn were selected at random and cannot be substituted – the LEMAS depends on all sheriffs’ offices selected to participate!
If you were selected and are willing to participate, please use your credentials to log into your 2016 LEMAS survey here.
If you have questions about the LEMAS survey, have difficulty with the website or are missing your agency’s sign-in credentials, please contact the LEMAS Help Desk via phone (800-845-7883) or e-mail (email@example.com).
