Application instructions for the National Sheriffs' Institute

Go to http://nic.learn.com

Participants without an existing account on NIC's Learning Center

• Click "New Users Register" on the left.  You will then be taken to the "How to Register" page.
• Read the information carefully and click "New Users Register" at the bottom of the page.
• Complete the form.  Items marked with a red asterisk are required.  If any items do not apply to you, enter "xx."
• Complete the password recovery question.
• If you have registered successfully, you will be automatically logged into the NIC Learning Center.
• Click "Training Catalog" on the left.
• Click "Classroom Training Programs."
• Find the title of the program for which you are applying, National Sheriffs' Institute (verify that it is the correct dates as there may be multiple sessions in the Training Catalog).
• Click on the program title for the program, National Sheriffs' Institute, and a new window will appear with the course description, eligibility requirements, and other information.
• Click "Enroll" in the upper right-hand corner.  You will receive an acknowledgment email that you have applied.

Participants with an existing account on NIC's Learning Center

• Click "Existing Users Login" on the left.  You will be taken to the Login page. 
• Enter your Username – most likely your business email address – and Password and click "Enter."
• Once logged in, click "Training Catalog" on the left.
• Click "Classroom Training Programs."
• Find the title of the program for which you are applying, National Sheriffs' Institute (verify that it is the correct dates as there may be multiple sessions in the Training Catalog).
• Click the program title for the program, National Sheriffs' Institute, and a new window will appear with the course description, eligibility requirements, and other information.
• Click "Enroll" in the upper right-hand corner.  You will receive an acknowledgment email that you have applied.
