Law enforcement is changing. Almost every “traditional” crime today has some sort of cyber aspect and local, county and state law enforcement must deal with it. Sheriff’s Offices are now struggling on exactly how to deal with this new type of, oftentimes, faceless criminal who can attack from 1000 miles away, or attack in their own neighborhood without leaving the house. The big cases get the headlines, but it is the local business that is being targeted by cyber criminals.

Local, county and state residents are looking to their Sheriff to, not only protect them, but to be able to catch those who have committed a cybercrime.

So how can law enforcement address the needs of their citizens, prevent attacks and develop meaningful intelligence to get “ahead of the curve”? As one law enforcement senior executive stated, “Cybercrime is the future of law enforcement.”
