As managers in a demanding profession, we provide vital skills needed for our personnel to survive dangerous environments.  The time, training, and effort spent on preparing our people for these encounters demonstrate our commitment to providing a solid foundation for success and safety.  However, much of our duties involve dealing with the day-to-day aspects of police work.  Keeping our people motivated at work can be rooted in providing them with a sense of meaning when it comes to their professions.  A career in law enforcement can attack a person’s sense of wellbeing, or purpose.  By helping our personnel recognize the meaning of the work they do, particularly in today’s social media environment, we can provide them with a sense of wellness which may encompass their entire careers and beyond.  Meaning provides purpose for personal and professional endeavors.
