Psychology Safety is a belief that one will not be punished or humiliated for speaking up with ideas, questions, concerns or mistakes. Sounds easy and maybe a little “soft”. But psychological safety, or lack thereof, can reduce accidental deaths in hospitals. In public safety, it can create a positive organizational culture, foster innovation, and improve community relations. Dr. Michael Goold is the former Chief of Police for the City of Rancho Cordova, CA. He is a certified executive coach and systemic team coach. He is a graduate of the FBINA Session #251 and the Harvard Kennedy School of Government state and local leader program. He is also an adjunct professor in the Ed.D. Organizational Leadership program for Brandman University.
