The NSA works in collaboration with the National Institute of Corrections (NIC) Jails Division to facilitate two offerings per year of the five-day National Sheriffs’ Institute (NSI) held in Aurora, Colorado. NSA is seeking two invitational instructors to attend the NSI – one at each offering in 2016, August 22-26 and September 19-23 – to increase instructor selection for future classes.
The invitational instructor will observe the current program to gain familiarity with the curriculum, discussions, and learning activities that are a part of the NSI. Expenses, including travel, lodging and meals, are paid. The invitational instructor does not receive consultant fees for their participation in NSI.
The desired applicants will have knowledge in current government and criminal justice leadership issues to teach the course of instruction using the NIC’s curriculum. Interested applicants may submit their resume, three professional references, and which offering they are interested in – August or September – to Hilary Burgess at hburgess@sheriffs.org by July 10, 2016 for consideration.
