National Sheriffs' Association Tuition Discounts
Members of the National Sheriffs' Association, along with their spouses and children, can receive a 10% tuition discount at Columbia Southern University, an online university with unlimited possibilities. To take advantage of this discount, please submit your Application and Enrollment forms via the National Sheriffs' Association page on the CSU website.

CSU Book Grant
Textbooks are provided at no cost through CSU Book Grant as long as the student successfully completes the course.

Maximum Transfer Credit
CSU allows maximum transfer credit for your prior academic credit, training, and relevant professional licenses and certifications. Up to 75% of undergraduate courses and 50% of graduate courses can be transferred into your degree program at CSU.

No Entrance Exams Required

CSU does not require minimum entrance scores for the ACT, SAT, GRE or GMAT to be accepted for admission into our programs.

Academic Partnership with Trident University International (TUI)


Trident University International is a fully online postsecondary university. Its flexible online learning model and solutions provide law-enforcement students a friendly, cost-effective, and high-quality education with programs that lead to Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Ph.D. degrees.
 
Through our Academic Partnership, members of the National Sheriffs' Association, along with their spouses and dependents, are eligible for 15% reduced tuition for Bachelor’s degree programs and 27.5% reduced tuition for Master’s degree programs. As a result, the cost per Bachelor’s semester credit is lowered from $295.00 to $250.00 and per Master’s semester credit from $345.00 to $250.00. TUI’s cyber library eliminates the cost for textbooks or course materials and the application fee for Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees is waived.
 
TUI offers degree programs in Business Administration, Health Sciences, Information Technology Management, Educational Leadership, and Computer Science. Programs of special interest for Law Enforcement professionals include the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentrations such as Criminal Justice Administration, HR Management, General Management, Leadership, and Governmental Accounting; Bachelor of Science in IT Management; MBA with concentrations such as Strategic Leadership, Conflict and Negotiation Management, Criminal Justice Administration, or Public Management; Master of Science in Emergency and Disaster Management; Master of Science in IT Management and others.
 
NSA members benefit from a no-cost, no-obligation credit transfer evaluation of credits earned through CA POST Command College, Sherman Block Supervisory Leadership Institute (SLI), LASD Deputy Leadership Institute (DLI), FBI National Academy (FBINA), community/junior colleges, four year universities, ACE recommended credits, military command colleges, DANTES, CLEP, IT certificates, and others. TUI offers year-round applications, and has a flexible academic calendar (four major semester sessions and four interim semester sessions per year), which enables students to choose a standard, slow, or accelerated learning pace.

Badge-to-Grad Scholarship through Herzing University Online provides nearly 50% tuition reduction and awards up to 32 credit hours to officers who qualify.
The National Sheriffs' Association and Herzing University have partnered to provide a package of educational benefits for all NSA-affiliated members.  In recognition of the sacrifice displayed by sworn peace officers, Herzing University has created an exclusive Badge-to-Grad Scholarship and credit-hour award program to make education especially accessible to those who have sworn to protect and serve our communities and country.

Credit for academy training
Herzing University will grant up to 32 semester credit hours for your academy training.  To be eligible, the state or federally approved law enforcement academy must qualify the graduate to become a sworn peace officer in the jurisdiction or agency supported by the academy.

Badge-to-Grad Scholarship award   
Certified law enforcement professionals are eligible to receive a scholarship that significantly reduces the cost of tuition for undergraduate programs to $250/credit (represents nearly a 50% reduction) and graduate programs to $500/credit (represents a 20% tuition reduction).  Additional benefits include an enrollment fee waiver (there is no application fee), free evaluation of academy training and previous college experience, and an exclusive tuition payment plan option.

Special benefits for family members and non-certified NSA member
Immediate family of NSA-affiliated members are eligible for a 10% tuition reduction.  In addition, any employed member of the NSA who is not a certified law enforcement professional is eligible to receive a 10% tuition reduction.  Additional benefits include an enrollment fee waiver (there is no application fee), free evaluation of previous college experience, and tuition payment plan options.
