SHERIFFS OPPOSE SENATE BORDER BILL

February 6, 2024 – (Washington, DC) – The National Sheriffs' Association (NSA) announced its opposition to the recently released Senate immigration legislation.

"We have a crisis at our American Borders which this legislation fails to address,” stated NSA President Sheriff Greg Champagne. “The crisis our agencies and communities face at the border and across the Nation is unprecedented.”

This legislation would simplify the process of entry at the expense of border security. Security should be the priority. The legislation ignores the political, social, and economic domination of our borders by the cartels which are more powerful than the terrorists who brought down the World Trade Center. This crisis has caused more than 35-times the number of deaths to American citizens in a one-year period than was inflicted upon the United States on 9/11.
