Sheriffs Statement on Trump Executive Order

Alexandria, VA – The National Sheriffs’ Association released the following statement in support of President Trump’s Executive Order concerning law enforcement.

"Sheriffs listen to our communities and we act when citizens demand it. Across the country, the American people have demanded action and a sustained and comprehensive cultural change in law enforcement, " NSA incoming-President Sheriff David Mahoney, Dane County WI, said. "Sheriffs worked closely with the White House to develop an executive order that rightly addresses the mental health crisis in our nation, de-escalation and other training and accreditation initiatives and additional actions focused on improving law enforcement. We look forward to assisting the administration and Congress to implement these orders for the betterment of law enforcement and our nation."
