Statement of the National Sheriffs’ Association

This week, Robert Kennedy JR. released the following video about his trip to the border in Yuma County, Arizona and highlighted the challenges of the border crisis. The National Sheriffs’ Association Executive Director and CEO Jonathan Thompson released the following statement praising his efforts to bring awareness to the ongoing border crisis.

"The government has struggled to control our southern border and process individuals in a controlled and safe and humane way, and to combat the deadly Mexican Cartels who are victimizing people from around the world and smuggling dangerous drugs like Fentanyl through our nation's borders. So, we appreciate any non-partisan efforts like Robert F. Kennedy, Jr to visit the southern border and create awareness, draw attention and speak truthfully about the crisis that exists. We will continue to encourage members of Congress and State's executive leaderships to do the same." said NSA Executive Director Jonathan Thompson.
