Wednesday, October 4, 2017

On March 5 2018, the National Sheriffs’ Association (“NSA”) shall be a Group Sponsor of up to 50 eligible attorneys to become New Members of the United States Supreme Court Bar. As requested by the Supreme Court of the United States (“SCOTUS”), NSA will present its candidates to be sworn in before the Justices of SCOTUS in open court in Washington D.C.  before the Justices before the bench.

There are no oral arguments scheduled on March 5, 2018 by SCOTUS. The Court has reserved the ceremonial East Room in the Supreme Court Building both before and after the swearing-in ceremony for our attorneys/family/friends. The only business of the Court on March 5, 2018 will be the swearing-in ceremony of the New Bar Members along with a “meet and greet” by the Justices

If you have someone who is interested in being admitted and sworn in as a new Member of the United States Supreme Court Bar, please contact Richard Weintraub, NSA General Counsel at: rmwein@sheriffs.org or by telephone (240) 401-6951.- as soon as possible with the name of interested parties.

All interested persons shall provide their contact information (e-mail address, phone numbers) and directly contact Mr. Weintraub with any questions on the swearing-in ceremony.

NSA as the Group Sponsor for the swearing in on Monday, March 5, 2018 will provide a master list to be submitted to the Bar Admissions Office of the SCOTUS along with all of the completed Bar Applications from each eligible attorney being sponsored by the National Sheriffs' Association.

March 5, 2018 should prove to be a memorable day for all participating individuals and for the National Sheriffs' Association at the Supreme Court of the United States.
