2015 Year End Line-of-Duty Death Summary

Tragically, 129 U.S. law enforcement officers (state, local, tribal, and federal) died in the line-of-duty in 2015.  This figure is down approximately 3% from 2014 during which there were 133 fatalities.

Yes, the number is down, but the level of vitriol continues. Additionally, LEOs are confronted with reduced funds, equipment and resources, immigration challenges, the heroin scourge, terrorist attacks and mentally ill inmates in our jails – all of which has left America’s sheriffs with more challenges in conducting their duty to protect their citizens.
