Sheriff’s Office announces new feature for Smart911 system for coronavirus

The San Luis Obispo Sheriff’s Office announced Thursday there is a new feature for its Smart911 system which will provide important health data to increase the awareness of 9-1-1 dispatchers to an individual’s risk level for coronavirus.

It’s called the “Take Control, Let Us Know” campaign. By signing up for Smart911, individuals can help first responders get the key information they need about every person in their family who may need assistance, not only during this outbreak, but during any emergency.

Smart911 is a free service that the Sheriff’s Office began offering last year.
