Logan County sheriff's deputy travels great lengths in one day to help

LOGAN COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS/WVAH) — A Logan County sheriff’s deputy is being commended for going the extra mile and traveling out of the county to help others in two different situations that occurred in one day.

Deputy T.C. Johnson had a busy day on Monday, providing a ride for a man who had no way to get home and assisting at the scene of a vehicle fire as he traveled back.

The sheriff’s office said Johnson had a mental hygiene case involving a man from Iowa who didn’t have a way to get home. He contacted a friend who got the man a bus pass out of Huntington. The deputy gave the man a ride to Chapmanville, hoping that he could get a Tri River Transit bus to Huntington.
