NSA Mourns Sheriff John Aubrey, 2014-2015 NSA President

The National Sheriffs’ Association (NSA) mourns the passing of Sheriff John Aubrey of Jefferson County, KY. A lifelong public servant, Sheriff Aubrey served seven consecutive terms, making him the longest-serving sheriff in his county’s history. He was named NSA Sheriff of the Year in 2025 and honorably served as President of the National Sheriffs’ Association from 2014 to 2015. Sheriff Aubrey will be remembered for his integrity, dedication, and unwavering commitment to his community and NSA.
