Court and Judicial Security Certification

NSA offers this certification in five levels (from Basic to a Masters of Court Security). With the increased pressure in the courts to provide security for your judges and all who pass through your courthouse doors, your staff needs to be well trained. NSA is happy to provide this training.

Jail Officer Training and Certification

NSA has created the Jail Certification Program at the NSA Center for Public Safety to provide professional designation to jail officers, supervisors, administrators and sheriffs who possess the requisite understanding, knowledge, skills, experience and abilities to function to the level of their achieved certification.
 
The Certification Board established a thorough analysis of primary functions and knowledge of jail operations and administration management for each designated certification, combining experience and education coupled with testing to ensure comprehension of critical areas of focus.

Homeland Security Certification

The National Sheriffs’ Association in partnership with the National Domestic Preparedness Coalition (NDPCI) offers two certification programs, the Certified Homeland Protection Professional (CHPP) and Certified Homeland Protection Associate (CHPA).

Leadership Certification

As a part of NSA's commitment to provide innovative, relevant educational opportunities and in an effort to address the need expressed by so many Sheriffs throughout the country regarding affordable, comprehensive and sustainable leadership education, NSA is pleased to partner with the International Academy of Public Safety (IAPS) to develop the online NSA Institute for Credible Leadership Development which offers two certifications, the Credible Law Enforcement Organization (CLO) Certification and the Certified Credible Leader (CCL) Certification.

Krav Haganah for Law Enforcement

In this course the officer will learn effective defensive tactic methods developed from the Krav Haganah modern martial art style. The Krav Haganah techniques conform with the Use of Force Continuum structure. The students will be able to better deal with various hand to hand confrontations.

The techniques taught in this course will enable the officers  to conduct effective suspect control duties as well as defend themselves against various levels of threats.

Officer Survival for Worst-Case Scenario

For the past several years we have witnessed a growing number of law enforcement officers being killed and assassinated. Some law enforcement training may not be sufficient to prepare officers for these deadly encounters.

This course was designed to prepare law enforcement officers to survive deadly encounters while on duty, including traffic stops, domestic incidents, and even confrontations while off duty.

Operations Based Threat, Risk, and Vulnerability Assessment

The “Operations Based Threat, Risk, and Vulnerability Assessment” (OpBTRVA) is a comprehensive assessment that defines a community, evaluates a community’s strengths and weaknesses, identifies critical infrastructure and key resources, identifies the threats to the community from an all hazard perspective, identifies and prioritizes Critical Infrastructure / Key Resources (CI/KR) and provides a comprehensive vulnerability assessment.

School Based Threat, Risk and Vulnerability Assessment

The “School Based Threat, Risk and Vulnerability Assessment” (SBTRVA) Training was developed to assist campus security, school administration, staff and employees, responders from all emergency response disciplines including; Law Enforcement; Fire Service, Emergency Medical, Emergency Management, and the private sector, to understand and complete threat, risk, and vulnerability assessments of schools and use the information gathered in the assessments to ensure that their schools are safe and secure.

Tactical Shooting for Law Enforcement

This 5-day shooting course is designed to bring the officer to a high level of proficiency with the handgun, carbine, and shotgun. Current events have shown the need for advanced tactical training for patrol officers; this is predicated by the evolvement of the criminal element. Shooting tactics and patrol tactics must evolve as well.
